My Fair Share of Themed Parties

It all started with my niece's Pink Party...

Then a G.I. Joe Party for my older brother. We're mature people, I promise...

A Rockband Party for my Dad...

A Nerd Party for my 18th Birthday...

And a Disco Dance with 70's attire!

So as you can see, I am a full supporter of themed parties. And don't think that grown adults won't get into it! As long as you've done your planning to make sure it'll be fun - people will dress up and get into the theme more than you'd think!

Give Me S'more Please!

My husband and I have been waiting anxiously for the weather to warm up so we can finally go camping together. We've got lots of friends that want to go camping this summer as well. And you know what that equals... A Couple's Campout! It's in the works, I'll keep you posted. But as we await the sunshine, I've been basking in s'more goodness!

Raspberry S'mores by Real Simple

Just look at how creative people have gotten with the age-old treat! S'more cookies, s'mores bars, raspberry s'mores and more! You don't even have to go camping now to enjoy the s'more delight!

But I say nothing beats the deliciousness of an original s'more as you sit around a campfire while trying to avoid all the smoke. When the marshmellow melts the milk chocolate and you bite that crunchy graham cracker, nothings ever tasted better. Or been as sticky. I hate the aftermath of a s'more. Good thing you forget about that part by the time you go camping again!

Our Wedding

It still feels like our wedding was yesterday, but it was actually back in December. I guess momentous days like that just stick with ya like that. And all the planning it took was so worth it, so I just have to share! I knew what colors and theme I wanted long before we were even engaged! But I think it's safe to say I'm not the only girl that's done that! Red has always been my favorite color and I knew I wanted to incorporate it into our colors, but I didn't want it to turn into Christmas colors. And then I saw it with turquoise and I just knew that's what I wanted. It was something I'd never seen done for a wedding before and I could still embrace some Christmas (it was inevitable) with the red.

Banner designed by Frog Prince Paperie
"How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" was our theme because nothing is sweeter than being loved by the one you love! It was also very fitting though because I have a major sweet tooth. I mean, I LOVE my sweets.  And as a result, I just had to have a fun candy table with our rock candy wedding cake and cupcakes!

We wanted to keep the cake simple, so we did vanilla cake with red and turquoise sprinkles inside and topped it off with the crunch of some rock candy.

The reception took place in my parent's home/backyard (thanks to outdoor heaters!) and it turned out beautifully. Incorporating the Christmas season with our wedding played to our advantage - I mean, look at those twinkling lights and fresh pine wreath!

Having the tree decorated with presents and lollipops made our Christmas tree look better than ever. But to my little sister's dismay, it also meant that the tree wasn't going to be decorated with our traditional ornaments this year!

I thought it was going to be difficult, decoration wise, to have the reception in my parent's house but with just a few adjustments it worked out great!

But none of this decoration goodness could have been possible without these two women, my Mom and my sister-in-law. They interpreted my ideas (I was states away during the wedding planning process) and just soared with them!

Welcome, Cutie!

After three girls, Kimberly is having a boy! When my sister-in-law came to me to with her idea of incorporating California "Cuties" for this baby shower, I just knew the designs would be orange-tastic.

Some cute bunting for the pie!

Brownie toppers that say "Welcome Cutie!" and  "Orange-ya-glad it's a boy!"

Yummy cupcakes topped off with a little orange slice.

Now go get yourself a glass of orange juice!

Welcome to Party Bulb!

This blog has been a dream of mine than can no longer be ignored. It's my creative outlet as I make it through my undergrad and plan parties on the weekends.
